Students were overwhelmed since they never got such an exposure before. There was also an outbound training for the participants. NVIDIA was our strong supporter and we also had online forums where we the students exchanged knowledge on the different fields in animation. All the speakers were allotted around an hour‘s time to interact with the students and answer their questions after each session. Shankar Raman, a renowned cinematographer who has shot award winning films like ‘The Great Indian Butterfly‘, ‘Frozen‘ and feature films like ‘Peepli LIVE‘, was the first speaker who spoke about Photography and Cinematography.Around 300 MAAC students attended the event from different states. The speakers did not just guide them but also gave students few assignments to furnish their animation skills. Venkat Reddy, CEO, Bluegiant, another guest speaker, explained motion capture and its process and was more into the practical teaching rather than talking to the apprentice‘s. He made one of the student wear the costume called ‘Gyroscopic‘ that captured the motion and the movements that he showed on the computer.Animation Diva Geetanjali Rao presented her work and it is impossible not to applaud her work. She briefed the importance of animation showcasing her initial films as well as the recent ones like Blue, Girgit, Printed Rainbow and Orange. Also, she presented her art work for print ads. Explaining the importance of Story telling and Screening, Rao said, "Animation should always have an urge to tell a story. It‘s important to learn how to express complicated and exciting emotions. Animation can do much more than the live action when it comes to feelings."
