NVIDIA 3DTV Play to enable 3D gaming and viewing on TV Screens

Company NVIDIA today announced the launch of its new software NVIDIA 3DTV Play, which allows users to connect laptop and desktop computers with support for NVIDIA 3D Vision to 3D-TV with HDMI 1.4 interface and display high definition images on large screen. The new software runs on OS Microsoft Windows Vista and Windows 7, supports most models of 3D-HDTV, and compatible 3D-glasses of all the major TV manufacturers. By adding compatible playback software and audio / video receivers, users of the systems based on GPU GeForce with architecture NVIDIA Fermi get 24-bit HD multi-channel sound at a frequency of up to 192 kHz or lossless audio format DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD. This will allow playing of 3D Blu-ray discs in 1080p streaming with HD-surround sound. Owners of computers with NVIDIA 3D Vision can download NVIDIA 3DTV Play for free with the latest version of drivers GeForce 260 GPU for desktops and Verde 260 for laptops. In November, the new software will be available on the NVIDIA site as an upgrade for PCs based on NVIDIA GeForce GPU and Microsoft Windows 7.

In addition, NVIDIA 3DTV Play already comes preinstalled on certain models of computers, including home theater (HTPC) from ASRock and Zotac, and also on new Dell XPS laptops with processors NVIDIA GeForce 400M. The software will also be supplied with computers, announcement about which is expected in coming months. “3D games, video and photos on a big screen 3D HD-TV is an amazing experience,” said Phil Eisler, general manager of 3D Vision at Nvidia. “GeForce PCs with 3DTV Play software enable users to play nearly 500 games on a 3D TV. That’s far more than any other platform.”
