Pixion delivers VFX for ‘Raajneeti‘

The VFX for Prakash Jha‘s latest highly applauded political drama was done by Pixion Studios Mumbai. Some of their work included a CG created helicopter, crowd multiplication and composting explosion scenes. The highly appreciated venture had a team of 20 people complete 175 shots in a month, giving a realistic look to the film‘s action sequences.
The shooting of certain crucial scenes were overseen by VFX Supervisors, Simon Frame and Prasad Suttar. Asked about his experience of working with Prakash Jha, Prasad said "Prakashji used to come in regularly to check the shots. Besides that he would also provide all his valuable inputs as to how we could improvise on the scene. So it was an absolute treat for us to work with someone as great as him. We really had a good experience.
For an action sequence where a man is hit by a vehicle, the team shot the man and the vehicle separately and then composited them together. Pixion also did crowd multiplication for a funeral scene, while maintaining the authentic look of the film. So while a small crowd was shot, the rest of the multitude was created in CG.
